PROGRESSIVE CAVITY PUMPS

Progressive Cavity Pumps

Global Water’s range of Progressive Cavity Pumps features a single rotating element progressing cavities which delivers uniformed, metered and non-pulsating flow. The fluids handling abilities of these progressive cavity pumps extend beyond water, to include sewage sludge, industrial effluents and corrosive liquids.

Features of the progressive cavity pumps include:

  • self-priming
  • non-clogging
  • low NPSH requirement
  • low internal velocity
  • reversible
  • silent running

PRODUCT INFORMATION

The wide range of Roto Progressive Cavity Pumps are a positive displacement pump, as well as self-priming and non-clogging. These elements offer a pump that can accurately dose, whilst handling solids in suspension or emulsions.

Additional features of this progressive cavity pump include:

Cardan Universal Joint

The Cardan type universal joint used in this pump is acknowledged as far superior to the conventional gear joint or single pin & bush joint - having only line contact, resulting in higher wear rate.

Improved pump housing

The sloped housing design reduces entry losses and assist in drainage. The flexible housing also allows the suction port to be rotated in steps of 90o to suit whatever installation required.

Optimised rotor-stator geometry

Improvements in rotor technology ensures minimum wear due to lower rubbing velocity. Lower starting torque and the effective sealing line improves the volumetric efficiency, reduces power consumption and extends the service life.

Smarter shaft sealing

The externally mounted stuffing box enables easier maintenance of gland packing or mechanical seals - without the need to dismantle the bearing housing.

Tougher bearings

Using taper roller bearings in medium and large size pumps ensures rigidity and concentricity of the shaft leading to a longer service life.

Tapered entry stator

This facilitates easy entry for fluid and improves the pump’s suction capability.

The GPT can be used to protect pumping chambers and down-stream stormwater detention tanks or treatment devices. Multiple units can be installed to ensure effective site coverage and maximise first flush catchment.

Based on Global Water’s proven glass-reinforced concrete (GRC) 600 mm x 600 mm sumps, the EcoTreat GPT offers optimum versatility, with the outlet able to be installed on-site at any invert to suit site requirements.

A galvanized grate suitable for pedestrian or light vehicle traffic is supplied as standard. A heavy-duty grate is available as an option.
