PRODUCT INFORMATION

The GP Series can be supplied in either free-standing configuration for installation in polyethylene pits, or auto-coupling pedestal mounted with guide rails for concrete pit installations. All pumps are fitted with 10m cables, and single-phase pumps have integral overloads. Larger flow rate units are available upon request.

Complete packaged pumping stations, including electrical control panels are available in either single pump or twin pump configurations.

Part of the GP Series, the following submersible sewage pumps are available:

GPC Series

The GPC Series of submersible cutter pumps are designed to handle raw sewage and wastewater containing solids in suspension for residential and light industrial applications. The impeller is fitted with a cutting mechanism to shred suspended solids, with units available in single or three-phase with inbuilt overload protection.

Features of these submersible cutter pumps include:

  • impeller fitted with cutting mechanisms
  • cast iron pump casing and impeller
  • stainless steel motor housing and shaft
  • triplex shaft seal - double mechanical seal and single lip seal

GPG Series

The GPG grinder pumps are effective and economical in residential and light commercial application. These pumps utilise a stainless steel shredding mechanism to reduce solids found in raw sewage and enable discharge through small diameter pipework.

Features of these submersible grinder pumps include:

  • single and three phase
  • automatic float switch available on single phase unit
  • cast-iron pump casing
  • quick release plug-in electric cable
  • oil lube SIC mechanical oil seal

The GPG series also extends to heavy-duty submersible grinder pumps suitable for municipal and commercial applications where robust design and trouble-free operation are required. This range features a unique grinding mechanism that shreds raw sewage plus rags and most fibrous material effortlessly.

Features of these heavy-duty grinder pumps include:

  • grinder system capable of shredding fibrous materials such as cloths and plastic bags
  • low installation costs due to small diameter discharge pipework and high head capability
  • freestanding or discharge stand mounted
  • seal leak detection system available
  • thermal sensors fitted to windings
  • oil lube SIC mechanical seal shaft

GPS Series

The GPS series offers heavy-duty economical and reliable pumping of wastewater and sewage from buildings and commercial and industrial applications.

Features of the GPS series include:

  • chokeless single vane impeller with large free passage, plus spiral bottom plate for rag handling
  • free-standing or discharge stand mounted with guide rails
  • suitable for larger solids up to 80 mm diameter
  • double SIC mechanical shaft seals
  • premium efficiency IE3 cast iron electric motors

GPV Series

Global Water’s GPV series of heavy-duty submersible vortex pumps are ideal for pumping dirty water with minimal solids, such as effluent, industrial process water and stormwater in municipal and heavy-duty industrial applications.

Features of the GPV series include:

  • rugged cast iron construction with stainless steel fasteners
  • open single channel non-clog impeller with spiral bottom plate for rag handling
  • double mechanical shaft seal in oil bath with hard faced silicon carbide/ceramic seal on pump side
  • seal fail detection probe option

What are effluent and sewage pumps used for?

Sewage pumps are used to transport contaminated water to a treatment location when gravity pipe work systems cannot achieve sufficient fall. Sewage may often have solids present, so pumps are often fitted with macerators to cut up solids before they pass through.

What’s the difference between an effluent pump and a sewage pump?

Effluent pumps are required when you’re pumping water likely to contain solids up to 20 mm in diameter, such as mound-type septic systems, elevated septic system drain fields, laundry discharge, trade waste and sump or grey water removal.

A sewage pump macerating system is used for pumping sewage containing soft solids up to 50 mm in diameter. Both types of pumps operate on a centrifugal basis, with a motor causing an impeller to rotate and create pressure which pushes water into the discharge pipe. However, sewage pump stations tend to use cutter and grinder pumps (known as macerator pumps), while effluent or septic overflow pump stations utilise vortex or channel pumps. On occasion, effluent systems do use macerator pumps in case a solid makes it into the pump stations.

Effluent and sewage pumps are suitable for both residential and commercial applications. They can be used as waste pumping solution in industrial, CWMS schemes and commercial trade waste and raw sewage contexts.
